GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
WHERE : Shaniko, Oregon,the historic "Wool Capital of the World", is on Highway 97, 40 miles north of Madras and 56 miles south of the Columbia River from Biggs Junction.
PURPOSE :
To inform the public about varieties of wool, and the processes involved in creating beautiful, useful products from different fibers;
To help maintain the Ranching culture and tradition of the north-central Oregon area, by reviving the historic marketplace for wool growers to sell their wares;
To provide the opportunity for fiber artists of the Northwest region to find new sources here, and to show their products and services as well.
VENDORS : Vendors of any fiber-related service or product are invited, plus those who have raw fleeces, prepared fibers, pelts, yarns, art wearables, dyes, books, tools and equipment.

Set up will be Friday afternoon and evening. Registration will be at the School House. Booth locations will be given there.
If you have your own outdoor set-up, please bring it ... but if there's any problem, we now have space for 20 vendors in zip-down secure tents of our own. Call to reserve one!
There will be security patrols both on Friday and Saturday Nights. You must provide tables, chairs and other props. All exhibitors will be located on the Streets of Shaniko. We will creat the Tent City that was here in 1900, when the first trainful of passengers pulled in!
Parking for vendors will be on the side streets of Shaniko. Ample parking close, on the streets, for customers and tourists.
Non-fiber vendors set up on Shaniko's designated downtown areas, for $10 a day, contact the City of Shaniko at 541-489-3226.
